The Wagner Family | San Francisco Family Portrait Session

This last month I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph the very sweet Wagner family. Their love for one another and for the cute Miss P. was unmistakeable. Miss P. was on the go, and like any one year old ready to explore her world.

Thank you Wagner Family, for the honor of capturing your beautiful family at such an important time in your lives.

My heart skips when I see your smile

Film can make my heart sing. I get all excited when I know that any day now I’ll get an email letting me know that my scans are ready. I download the scans, I hold my breath as I import into Lightroom, and then my heart flutters a little song when I remember what I shot on each roll.

And here are just 4…

Film Fridays | a Boy, a Field, and some Fuji

Film Fridays are super simple and I love them just for that reason.  Shoot a roll of film, share what you got on the last Friday of each month.  Easy peasy!

This month, my share is special to me because my son and I decided to shoot his 5 year old birthday portraits in film.  He woke up the morning of his birthday and said, “Mama we should go do a photo shoot for my birthday as soon as I’m done playing cars”. Who is gonna turn that down. He was a super sport about having his picture taken.  He didn’t complain once!  Look how gorgeous this kid is…I could photograph him all day! He turned 5 with a huge party, a huge smile and I am so darn proud of this little person! Umm big boy, I mean.

Now, Film Fridays are especially fun because I get to share it with some pretty amazing photographers that also share a passion for exploring film. Start your Friday morning off right with a cup of coffee and by visiting the Film Friday circle, starting with my friend Cara Richardson!

Me and Mine | San Mateo Family Portrait Photographer | Project 26

Welcome back to my Project 26, my most favorite project each month! These photos that capture Me and Mine are treasures, way beyond any nicely retouched portrait I will ever take (and I’ve taken A LOT). Joining me this month are 11 incredibly talented photographers, all of us seeking just one precious photo each month of ourselves with our lovies!

For me, before there was these two….

…there was him.
He is my best friend. The person that God chose for me, and me for him. He makes me laugh, he makes me shake my head in frustration (not all the time, but some times), but above all else he loves deeply, and he loves me. And I love him.

{Me and Mine} Nate and Jayme, married 10 years in September (Whoo Hoo)!

Now, please join me in visiting my friend Jules Trandem | San Diego CA Child Photographer and catch a glimpse of how she captured her gorgeous family!

Tablescapes | Belmont San Mateo CA Family Photographer | Project 26

This month our Project 26 creative challenge is {Tablescapes}. I hate to admit this to the peeps in our project circle, but this crazy theme was MY idea. What was I thinking?!?! I am pretty sure that I came up with this idea while I was on sabbatical and sat around eating bon bons all day with all the time in the world, right! Let me tell you that up until this last weekend I still had grand plans of pulling together this amazing looking table filled with scrumptious breakfast delights that when photographed and displayed made you gain ten pounds by just looking at them. Unfortunately, my ideas did not come to fruition (insert sad face here). I just didn’t have it in me with the Easter holiday and planning for my 5 year old son’s birthday party this week and working full time. Something has to give sometimes, and this theme was it. So ladies…forgive me but I am using an image that I took last weekend of my family around our dining room table, celebrating my husbands birthday. These are not what I had in mind for my tablescape, but these photos of all of us around the table, happy, getting ready to dive into some cupcakes is incredibly special to me.

Join me in this weeks blog circle by visiting my friend Misty Setzler | Lubbock Texas Photographer.

10-on-10 | April Edition

Welcome back to my April Edition of my 10-on-10.  This project is about photographing my everyday life.  The beautiful, the ugly, the hard, the soft and everything in between.  It is about capturing the essence of a moment.

This month, I took a bit of shortcut or liberty with my 10-on-10 interpretation.  Instead of 10 photos from one day within 10 hours, I’m giving you my favorite 10 images from one roll of film I took this month.  Funny enough, these were all shot in about 10 minutes of each other.

This is my family, just being us after dinner one night.  We raced around our front yeard, dancing around on the grass, giving loves and hugs, and of course a sassy face or two in front of Mama’s camera!  I need nights like this to help balance out those days that seem long, hard, and overwhelming.  Thank goodness for these 3 peeps.  Their smiles and their love is my compass

Now head on over and visit my friend Chesney Maxwell and see her beautiful family for her 10-on-10 this month.  I adore the ladies in our group and look forward to see all of their posts, and you will too!

The Bloom Forum | Project 52 | Week 15

This week its wasn’t hard to come up with a photographic interpretation of the word {Home}.  For me, {Home} is my family.  My kids, my wonderful husband, us being together.  So for this week, I have some photographs of my children on a Saturday afternoon at {Home} painting and building a {Home} for the birds that frequent our trees and yard.

{Home} All photographed using a Nikon F100 and Portra 400.

Now, don’t forget to head on over and see how Alison Crane | Bay Area Family Photographer captured the theme {Home}!

The Bloom Forum | Project 52 | Week 14

Week 14 of my project 52 is here and we are photographing {silly}. Silly in my house is a given, and is a word that I would use to describe my family in general. These photos are to celebrate my silly amazing husband who turned 37 yesterday! Happy Birthday to the most wonderful person I know!

{Silly}
Thank goodness for my tripod and the interval timer on my Nikon, I was so happy to be in the moment and not behind my camera watching it.
