My Family Twelve Times | July Edition (oops we’re in August)

Is it the middle of August already? Wow, this summer has FLEW by! I am still attempting my family photo each month, or otherwise fondly referred to as my 4 x 12 project or My Family Twelve Times! If you’ve missed the previous months, start here. This image was taken in July by again my dear friend Tara. Thank you so much Tara for always being willing to take a few of my family.

My Family Twelve Times & Thankful Thursday | Belmont CA Family Photographer

I am getting greedy tonight and rolling my Thankful Thursday post and My Family Twelve Times post from…JUNE all in one post tonight. If I don’t just get my family 4×12 post out there, tonight, IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. So if you are a fan of my sweet little family, you are in store, because this post is full of fun family pics!

{My family twelve times} Taken when Nate and I took the kids to see Cars 2. This was their very first movie theater experience and they absolutely loved it! Thank you, yet again, to my friend Tara for taking the photo! These photos were taken in almost near darkness!

{Thankful Thursday}. This week I am thankful for good ole family time! This is us, enjoying the kids first trip to the movie theater. I will treasure moments and memories like these!

Getting ready to race up the stairs to the concession stands and long line to enter the theater!

Here we are in the month of May, and I am still waiting for the sun to shine, CONSISTENTLY!  I love natural light photography, but the important key, is that I must have that warm gorgeous yummy light.  This month I took every opportunity to capture my sweet family when the sun was peeking out the overcast clouds, here on the San Francisco Peninsula.

You can see Nicole is yet again in her pink sweatpants (thanks uncle Loren and aunt Beth), and now Noah has joined in on this fashion choice of blue sweatpants EVERY weekend (thanks again, uncle Loren and aunt Beth).  Just when I was convinced that I wouldn’t get a picture of these two without the sweatpants, I was able to sneek a picture in this weekend, for a double feature of my family twelve time!

It is the end of the month again and I am excited to post about my family project. I started this project back in January, where I decided I would aim to take at least one photograph a month of my entire family. I am usually behind the camera, so it is not very often that I am in the pictures with my lovely family. I have to thank my dear friend Tara, for yet again taking our monthly family photo.
For me, this is my most favorite of all the family photographs we’ve taken so far. It shows us! Nicole is in her pink Addidas sweatpants, she tries to wear these pants EVERY single chance she gets. Noah, my sweet boy who will give you the most gorgeous of smiles, but is always looking somewhere else besides the camera. Me, no make up, jeans, comfortable, happy to be with my family. And Nate, my rock, who holds all of us close to his heart, lovingly, happily. All of us together after a wonderful dinner at Steelhead Brewery in Burlingame with the our amazing friends, The Coakleys!

My family twelve times. Just us.

March is almost gone, and I only have one day left to post my Family 4 x 12 project for the month of March. This month it was very challenging to get any sort of family picture. It seemed liked it rained for almost the entire month, and any family photography I tried to capture was relegated to indoors. Well, there was a break in the clouds one day last week and all four of us marched outside to marvel at the beautiful blue skies. And stretch our legs!

Now, the not-so-funny story about my Family 4 x 12 pictures this month, is that my memory card pooped out and was unreadable by my computer when I went to upload. I was so upset. My wonderful husband to the rescue, found a program on line to recover the pictures off my card. Saved! Whew!

For the the month of March my Family picture, is a montage. I couldn’t get all four of us in one photo. Trying to corral the kids on that one afternoon when the clouds broke, after being stuck inside because of the rain for weeks just wasn’t doable. I went with the flow, knowing that this project is for me, and that I would be equally happy with some great individual photos of that afternoon in March.

I am so grateful to have these pictures of us together. My family brings me amazing joy and I hope that I captured the light they bring into my life!

Just us. A very wet month of March.

This is the photo that I was going to grieve over if my husband couldn’t recover the file from my disk. So thankful that he could recover it

Franklin Family 4×12 Project-Blogging all about Pebbles and BamBam

Along with a Project 52 this year, I have taken on the exciting task of doing a family project. It’s called a 4 x 12 project. What this means is that I am committing to taking one family photo per month in 2011. There are four of us in our family and 12 months to a year, so it’s called a 4 x 12 :-) .

I am hoping that some of the photos will be artistic and creative, but I’m a realist and know that some will just be taken in the brief moments that Nate and I can corral the kids in front of the camera. I am excited about this project because I have so few pictures of the 4 of us together. In the end I hope to have 12 family photos that I will cherish for many years, and who knows, maybe even make a calendar for 2012?

Here is to 2011 and many happy family photo shoots!
