The Bloom Forum | Project 52 | Week 15

This week its wasn’t hard to come up with a photographic interpretation of the word {Home}.  For me, {Home} is my family.  My kids, my wonderful husband, us being together.  So for this week, I have some photographs of my children on a Saturday afternoon at {Home} painting and building a {Home} for the birds that frequent our trees and yard.

{Home} All photographed using a Nikon F100 and Portra 400.

Now, don’t forget to head on over and see how Alison Crane | Bay Area Family Photographer captured the theme {Home}!

The Bloom Forum | Project 52 | Week 14

Week 14 of my project 52 is here and we are photographing {silly}. Silly in my house is a given, and is a word that I would use to describe my family in general. These photos are to celebrate my silly amazing husband who turned 37 yesterday! Happy Birthday to the most wonderful person I know!

{Silly}
Thank goodness for my tripod and the interval timer on my Nikon, I was so happy to be in the moment and not behind my camera watching it.

The Bloom Forum | Project 52 | Week 12

Well, ladies I am back this week.  I was afraid that with returning to work that getting these projects completed each week was going to be difficult. That was an understatement.  But, I’m here this week.

Our theme this week is fittingly, {Green}.  I had a bit of fun in the kitchen with my oldest.  He really is such a great sport when it comes to my camera and I am working hard to make it more fun for him too, rather than the usual “sit here, no sit here, look here, smile here, don’t smile, look at my camera not your feet”.  I’m sure you get my drift.

Without further ramblings a couple of versions of green.

My limes, which will be used to make the most delicious margaritas!  And well, my boy is a cool cucumber, with some seriously Irish green eyes!  Hope you all had a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day! Next up in our circle is the very talented Alison Crane | Bay Area Family Photographer!

The Bloom Forum | Project 52 | Week 10

Here we are again, another Sunday and another Project 52 post. This week we are thinking about and photographing the prompt “Distress”. As always you can catch a glimpse of how the 15 other photographers in the blog circle photographed this theme by following the links at the end of my post.
This particular photo was taken on my familys trip to Portland to visit my mom. We were on our way to the sweet shop and happened by this doorway. It screamed at me for a photograph, and my sweet boy who is always ready for a snap or two obliged (cant you tell by his thrilled expression, insert sarcasm here!)!

The Bloom Forum | Project 52 | Week 9

Welcome back to my Project 52, where I join 16 other wonderful photographers from around the globe to explore and interpret different photographic themes.  As always in this project you can view the work of the next photographer in the blog circle by following the links in our posts.

This week our theme or prompt is {Related}.  This word brought to mind memories from my childhood, where I could always count on one thing, my brother.  Without a doubt you knew my brother and I were {Related}.  We looked so much a like, but also like our individual selves.  My brother and I were so close in age and spent so much time together that often we were mistaken for twins.  Now  a days, I have two of my own.  They are the same age apart as my brother and I.  I watch them wondering if people, just know that they are {Related}, not only by how like look a like, but also by their play, their interaction, their comfort with one another?  Either way, I am thankful that they were always have each other!

The Bloom Forum | Project 52 | Week 8

Short on time and ideas this week, I am Instagraming (I think this now a word, just like Googling) my project 52. When this post goes live, my family and I will be traveling on United Airlines back home to the San Francisco Bay Area. My sabbatical is coming to close (insert really sad sad face here) and we are fitting in last minute trips to see family. I am really hoping to keep this project alive after I return to work. Keep me honest ladies!

This week our group theme is United. Instantly what comes to mind is the long plane ride we took on United Airlines to and from Hawaii with a 4 year old and 3 year old this past January. They were so well behaved I couldn’t believe it!

As always you can see how each photographer in the blog circle interpreted the theme by following the link at the end of my post!

The Bloom Forum | Project 52 | Week 7

Welcome to the Sunday edition of The Bloom Forum Project 52. We are at week 7 and in anticipation of one of my favorite holidays, Valentine’s Day our group theme this week is {Pink}.  As always follow the link at the end of my post to see the next photographer in the circle and how she interpreted the prompt {Pink}!

Recently, I just got the new iPhone 4S. I am in love with this phone and one of the many reasons is because of it’s amazing 8 megapixel camera. This camera rocks. I’ve gotten hooked on Instagram using my phone and have found that it is super easy to pull out of my purse when there is a moment that I want to capture and I don’t have my “big” camera with me. One of the little obsessions that I have using this little camera phone is capturing sunsets. And let me tell you the last couple of weeks in California the sunsets, the not-so-great “spare the air” days, and the 70-degree weather has afforded some pretty amazing {PINK} skies.

If you would like to follow my Instagram feed, my tag is simple, its “jaymefranklin”

Taken with Instagram and processed using 70s filter.  iphoneographie

Up next in our blog circle this week is Alison Crane | San Francisco Bay Area Photographer. She is super talented and I can’t wait to see what she has for {Pink}!

The Bloom Forum | Project 52 | Week 6

We are here are week 6 of The Bloom Forum Project 52. This creative and personal photography project is fueled by 16 very talented photographers worldwide. Each week we interpret in our own way a theme or prompt and make a blog post from it. As always you can catch a glimpse of how the next photographer in the blog-circle interpreted the theme by following the link at the end of this post.

This week our theme is grounded. Words that come to mind to describe {grounded} are stable, foundation, justified, fundamental, soil, earth.
For me, this image defines them all.

Next up in this amazing group of photographers is Alison Crane | SF Bay Area Photographer.

The Bloom Forum | Project 52 | week 5

Welcome to week 5 of my 2012 project 52. This is a personal project that I decided to take on this year with many wonderful and talented photographers from The Bloom Forum. Last week I “had” to sit out on the post because I was still sipping Mai Tai’s poolside on the big Island of Hawaii. Can’t say that I would go back and change that, but I can say that I am glad to be posting this week with all of the wonderful photographers in this blog-circle. As always remember that you can visit the next photographer in the circle and see how she has interpreted the theme by following the links in each post.
This week our theme is {Discovery}. I had a couple of ideas for this one that originally involved a white lab coat and a microscope and some very cool but nerdy lab glasses. But alas my lab coat, like me, is on sabbatical and I didn’t think my boss would let me borrow a $$$$$ microscope, so I went with my next idea…

First there is THE COUNT
Then The HIDE
Followed very quickly by THE SEEK
And always ending with THE DISCOVERY!

Now don’t forgot to follow the next very talented photographer in this circle, my friend Alison Crane | San Francisco Bay Area Photographer.

Bloom Forum | Project 52 | Week 3

Welcome back to my Project 52 post. I am participating with 16 very talented photographers worldwide. Each week we creatively interpret different themes and prompts. As always, be sure to follow the links at the bottom of my post to see the how the next photographer in the blog circle photographed the theme!

This week our theme is {monochromatic}. Monochromatic is defined as having or consisting of one color or hue. I decided to go pretty simple on this theme. I was planning to put together a monochromatic collage (have you ever seen the collage boards at Snippet and Ink LOVE?), but I had to shoot this theme about a week in advance and I was limited on time. When this post goes live, I will be basking in the warmth of the Hawaiian sun and wading in the brilliant blue ocean! Mahalo friends!

{Monochromatic – white)
I realized after I shot this that the color white is technically the combination of all colors in the visible spectrum. But I am sure that all of you won’t mind the technicality (insert geeky nerdy brainy smile here).

Joining me this week is Alison Crane | San Francisco Bay Area Photographer. Please follow the links to see how she photographed this weeks theme! Thanks for stopping by.
