In my mind I can spin the most fantastic stories. In words, not so much. With my camera, I do a bit better. This month our Project 26 group chose the theme of {Stories} to express our creative selves. I had my plan, the photo shoot all laid out, and WHAM, sickness visited my house. Not all was lost though. Instead of my original idea, which I involved Superman and a very handsome blondie of mine, I instead decided to tell the story of one of my baking adventures.
If you don’t know, I LOVE to bake more than cook and I love to try out new recipes and techniques. For me it’s kinda of like a science experiment. This particular baking experiment was to make the very popular Cake Pops. You know you’ve seen them in the Starbucks pastry display! The cake pop recipe I used is from Bakerella, the cake pop queen! Well, this particular baking experiment started out with the best of intentions. I wanted to make these cute treats for my kids Valentine’s Day parties. Who wouldn’t love a cute pink pop? I experimented, and they worked, but no one enjoyed these pink treats. Why you might ask…they all ended up in the trash bin! WAY TOO SWEET! So sweet they gave me a toothache. They were pretty to look at and a lot fun to make, but I still need to figure out how to make them not so sugary sweet. Anyway, the story of the cake pops…
As always remember to check out how each photographer interpreted the theme by the following the links. Next up in our blog circle this week is Shea Parker | Jackson Mississippi Child Photographer.

Oh Jayme. You must be mistaken. It is simply impossible to make something too sweet!!! I love how you told the story of a baking adventure! These are beautiful images of the process. And I had NO idea you crumbled up cake and then rolled it into the circles!! I wish you’d shown a photo of the candy coating process – that is what has prevented me from trying this myself. Any time I’ve used those, it just mades a grand mess! Nothing like the beautiful images on Bakerella’s page! But yours look masterful!
I love the styling of the cake pops and candy chips shot. Beautiful job there.
And I love the ‘styling’ of the clean up shot, too…. : )

Okay, I LOVE this…loved watching the progression, such gorgeous hues here, and…I am a big fat pig, so I LOVE food and food blogs, so I really really liked this story.
{my first comment didn’t post–just so you know, but trying again}
i love how you told this story with your images…amazing images, jayme.
love the progression!
{and i wanted to tell you that i made these for my son’s halloween party. while they were easy to make…it was very time consuming and my son didn’t have much to say about how kids liked them at the party; too much work for not much of a positive response.{
These look amazingly delicious! I would love to try to make these but I don’t know how much success I would have. Love all the different perspectives you captured here + how you took us from start to finish!
I love the light in these. Are y’all making cake balls? so fun! Love your perspective on a lot of these too. Really nice, now I want cake…LOL
oh no- you DIDN’T!!! I LOOOOOVE cake pops! So yummo! and never too sweet

Is there a such thing as too sweet? Love this series. Telling stories is what it’s all about and you do it beautifully!
Oh my gosh, what a genius interpretation of the theme! What a patient, and very yummy, outcome for your post. I would love one of those right now!!!!
